The experience of having my Six Sigma classes offered at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Fluno Center for Executive Education was, in itself, very rewarding—it is a very hospitable setting. The classrooms were comfortable and spacious, very well suited for an adult learning environment. And the food was excellent! The instructor was extremely knowledgeable in the subject matter and presented it well. What stuck with me the most was that I should knowingly invest more time up front on a project, which will make it go more smoothly, and to always tollgate and look at what could go wrong at all stages of the DMADV process. While I have not made any specific improvements within my organization yet, thanks to the classes I have lots of ideas. I have discussed these with my superior in hope of pursuing them in the near future. My organization is at an all-time high for production requirements, and I anticipate being able to start moving forward on some of my ideas very soon—I have already scheduled a meeting with the plant manager and CEO to present them.
