    Barry Callen


    Barry Callen has spent the last 30 years creating strategies and marketing communications for hundreds of different businesses nationwide, from Coca-Cola and Shell to Famous Footwear and Wachovia Bank. Consumer, B2B, technology, association, start-up, and non-profit clients have invested just under half a billion dollars in ads in all media that he has either created or creative-directed. His ads have won numerous creative awards and Effies (for effectiveness). 

    He invented the PitchPerfect™ message strategy process for finding the most powerful thing to say and the Namedrop™ process for creating persuasive, "ownable" names. He runs several businesses with his partner Nell Weatherwax: Barry Callen, Inc.™ (marketing consulting, speaking, and teaching), Namedrop™ naming, and Corprov™ (corporate improv training for team-building and retreats).

    Barry is the author of two books published by McGraw-Hill: Perfect Phrases for Marketing and Sales, and Marketing, Advertising, and P.R. He is a highly rated instructor at various management schools around the U.S., and he achieved the highest rating ever attained for the Midwest Family Broadcasting Superstars Training Program.

    Barry studied improv comedy at Second City in Chicago and co-founded three different improv comedy groups.  He is also a singer/songwriter, artist, and father. He has been struck by lightning.
