Steven Haines

Steven Haines is the founder and President of Sequent Learning Networks. Steven has over 24 years of experience and has worked in the technology, healthcare, industrial products, consumer goods, and the defense electronics industries. His last corporate position was as Senior Director of Product Management at Oracle where he led a team which created and launched a family of customer relationship management applications.

Steven has carried out extensive research to understand how major product companies, across industries conduct product development and how they manage the life cycles of their products and services. Moreover, his teams have carried out extensive benchmarking of product management and marketing practices, further contributing to Sequent’s unique curriculum, advisory framework, and human capital management programs.

Steven also spent 12 years as adjunct professor of Marketing and Management at Rutgers University. He has spoken at industry conferences and written articles for industry publications. Recently, he published an article in ME Magazine entitled “Reconciling the Role of the Product Manager and the Project Manager.” Other articles appear in the ‘Back to Basics’ section of Visions magazine. He is currently a Regional Chapter Advisor for the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), is on the PDMA Outside Supplier Council, and is past Vice President of the New York chapter of the PDMA. Steven co-authored a chapter on “Product Life Cycle Management” in the PDMA Handbook of New Product Development, 2nd Ed.
