John Hoffmire

John Hoffmire is affiliated with executive education at University of Wisconsin-Madison and is the director of the Center on Business and Poverty at the university. He was most recently vice president of Ampersand Ventures, a venture capital firm, formerly part of Paine Webber. Hoffmire was senior investment officer at American Capital, a company that specializes in ESOPs; president of Hoffmire & Associates, an ESOP consulting firm purchased by American Capital; and was a consultant with Bain & Company. Hoffmire headed the ESOP Association’s Committee on Competitiveness. He received his PhD from Stanford University and earned his BA from the University of California, Davis.
