Buck Joseph, Ed. D. is professor emeritus of Management, Executive Education, Wisconsin School of Business, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Since 1973, he has taught undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education courses in English, adult education and managerial-leadership development. He taught for seven years at North Carolina State University, where he earned his doctorate in adult education in 1980. From 1979 to 2006, he served as a faculty member at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, achieving tenure as an associate professor in 1986, and chairing Executive Education (formerly known as Management Institute) for four years. He teaches the following courses:
- How to Influence Without Direct Authority
- Leadership Through Positive Influence
- Persuasion and Influence Skills for the Project Manager
- Professional Communications
In addition, he regularly works with companies throughout Wisconsin,the Midwest and the nation, tailoring training programs for executives,managers, and first-line leaders.
A nationally recognized researcher and writer, he co-authored the text, "Leadership and Vision", published by the New York Times in 1999. Speaking to over 150 conferences on leadership, teamwork, motivation, and communications throughout the United States and the world since 1982, he has established a reputation as an engaging, thought-provoking presenter.
Joseph regularly conducts in-house training and development programs for such clients as Abbott Laboratories, 3M Corporation, General Electric Health Care, and American Family Insurance. He has also presented management-training programs in Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, and Poland.
An energetic, enthusiastic communicator, Joseph is dedicated to helping people grow in their abilities to communicate, lead, and manage in their professional and personal lives.
