    Gary Prod


    Gary T. Prod, C.P.M., has over 35 years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing, and systems analysis and development in the electrical manufacturing and utility industries. He has developed strategic alliances for both materials and services; negotiated multi-million dollar contracts for software, capital equipment, and outsourced services; and has been responsible for purchases of nearly $250,000,000 annually.

    Prod holds a BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an instructor for the Wisconsin School of Business Executive Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, contributing to the Fundamentals of Purchasing and Strategic Global Sourcing courses. Prod has also presented seminars on supplier partnering, contracting, auctioning, and negotiation principles, focusing on the lessons from history and outsourcing. Additionally, he has facilitated round table discussions and pre-dinner meetings on purchasing and materials management issues for ISM Milwaukee, where he has served on the Board of Directors.

    Prod has written articles on “Picking a Winning Service Provider,” “Avoiding the Pitfalls of Outsourcing,” “Degrees of Outsourcing,” “Developing an Outsourcing Contract,” and “Budget the Right Stuff” for the National Association of Purchasing Management’s Insights magazine. He has also served on the review board for NAPM’s Infoedge magazine. In 1985, he was awarded the Certified Purchasing Manager designation by the National Association of Purchasing Management and was re-certified in 1990 and 1995. Prod received lifetime certification in 2000. He was named Purchasing Professional of the Year by ISM Milwaukee in 2003 and Professional Development person of the year in 2010. Presently, he is doing research for a book on negotiations in history.
