Barbara Schrage

Barbara A. Schrage, PMP, is a dynamic, interactive instructor at Wisconsin School of Business teaching classes within the Project Management series of courses.

Barbara has over 25 years of experience in various aspects of project management, ranging from managing large, cross-functional product development projects to Asst. Vice President of a centralized PMO in a Fortune 500 Financial Services organization.  As leader of the PMO, she had accountabilities for project portfolio management, project prioritization, project approvals, project methodology, and project metrics.   In addition, she was accountable for results of projects led by the Project & Program Managers within the PMO, with a specific focus on projects tied to the corporate scorecard.  She mentored and developed leadership skills in project and program managers. 

Barbara has been certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) since 1997. She has been a member of PMI since 1991 and in 2002 she co-founded the Northeast WI PMI Chapter and was elected to serve as the chapter’s first president.

Barbara owns a consulting business called Practical Project Management, LLC. She helps her clients mature their project management practices in various ways, from implementing Project Management Offices and Project Portfolio Management practices to improving their project management processes and templates.  She teaches on-site Project Management courses within organizations and also coaches and mentors leaders of PMOs and Program and Portfolio Managers. Besides her experience in the Financial Services industry, her clients have spanned various industries, such as health care, energy/utility, engineering, manufacturing, biotech research, government, retail, and market research.
