    Vice President, Global Supply Chain


    Tyler Vassar is the vice president, global supply chain for Joy Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: JOYG), a $4.0B global manufacturing and field-service company serving the mining industry. Joy Global operates on all five major continents through two major divisions: Joy Mining for underground applications, and P&H Mining for surface mineral extraction. Tyler has responsibility for supply chain and procurement activities for the entire business.

    Prior to joining Joy Global in 2009, Tyler spent five years as the vice President, global supply chain for Sauer-Danfoss, a $1.5B manufacturer of hydraulic systems. He gained much of his early management experience with the General Electric Company, where he held global roles in service, Six Sigma quality, manufacturing, and supply chain. Most recently, he was the general manager of global distribution and supply chain strategy for GE Healthcare. Prior to joining GE, Tyler also completed three successful tours as an officer in the United States Navy.

    Tyler holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Tennessee and a master's degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
