David Antonioni, Ph.D., is the program director of the Masters Certificate in Project Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Business. He also serves as the program director for a leadership development program specifically for managers of managers. He is a Fellow in the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Teaching Academy.
A licensed psychologist, he received both his bachelor’s degree in psychology and doctorate in counseling and behavioral studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has done extensive post-graduate work in organizational behavior and leadership development.
David offers 28 years of practical experience as a manager, consultant and adult education instructor. His professional experience includes work with a wide range of organizations including Abbott Labs; American Family Insurance; Briggs and Stratton; Cuna, Inc.; Delmarva; Farnam; Hazleton Labs; Home Savings; Ingersoll Cutting Tools; Land O’Lakes; the Madison (WI) police department; Orange and Rockland; RexRoth Indramat; Rohdia Division of Rhone-Poulenc; State Employees Credit Union; Virginia Power; Wisconsin Power & Light; Weyerhaeuser; University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics; Wisconsin Dairies; United Way; and the Wisconsin Departments of Administration, Natural Resources, Health and Social Services and Transportation.
Currently, David provides consultative training to organizations on various areas of project management. He also facilitates teams and provides coaching to executives and managers.
David has published research results related to leading, managing and coaching roles; upward appraisals; how to design an effective 360-degree appraisal process; how to redesign performance management systems: a new model for organizational changes; how to lead and facilitate teams; the new roles for mid-level managers and what motivates them; the relationship between practicing conflict management and personality factors; the effects of delegation levels on perceived empowerment; how to score with goals; and coaching for higher performance: post-planning reviews prevent poor project performance.
He is a member of the Academy of Management, Academy of Human Resource Development, Institute for Industrial Engineers, the Society of Industrial Organizational Psychologists and the Project Management Institute.
