Edward Marien

Ed Marien is professor emeritus of the transportation and logistics program for the Executive Education department within the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW). He holds degrees from Indiana University (MBA) and Michigan State University (Ph.D., Marketing and Logistics).

His present instructional activities at the UW include a wide offering of non-credit, continuing educational courses for industry practitioners from manufacturers, distributors, retailers, carriers and third-party service providers in consumer and industrial market segments.

Ed has been employed directly in industry and consults extensively with industry professionals. He has consulted with organizations on supply chain/logistics/transportation, economics and business planning. He has assisted information technology firms in strategic planning and concept implementation. He has also assisted suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and carriers in negotiations, in operations improvement tactics, and in implementing supply chain management initiatives. He emphasizes the use of process improvement models along with practical tips and techniques for clients to build trading partner relationships.

Thomas Krenz

Thomas is a licensed customs broker and is president of Krenz & Hannan International, Inc. Thomas has been a licensed broker for more than 11 years and has been in the transportation industry for over 15 years. He works closely with purchasing and transportation people to coordinate and expedite the movement and release of goods through ustoms into the U.S.A. He assists firms in making informed inbound logistics decisions that will minimize purchasing and logistics costs while getting the goods to destination when and as needed for use.

Mary Lynn Murtaugh

Mary Lynn Murtaugh, President of Global Back Office, LLC has more than 30 years of international business experience in banking, manufacturing, logistics, sales and international trade consulting. Her professional accomplishments in sales and operational management have provided her with a solid understanding of the opportunities, challenges and resources facing today’s global companies. Mary Lynn founded Global Back Office in 2004 to help companies identify and manage the true risks, processes and costs of their global operations. Mary Lynn is an active member of Milwaukee World Trade Association, International Credit Executives and is a former board member of these organizations as well as Wisconsin World Trade Center, and WCTC International Trade Advisory Board. She is also a frequent presenter at International trade and educational events.
