Charles A. Krueger
Program Director, Finance and Accounting Programs
Charles Krueger is associate professor of management for Executive Education within the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He directs programs in accounting, finance business management and related fields. An enthusiastic, effective communicator, Chuck is noted for his ability to present financial concepts in a clear and practical manner. He serves as a guest speaker to numerous professional groups, public organizations and companies nationwide.
Chuck is well known for his ability to teach financial and non-financial managers how to present financial information so it is useful and stimulates effective decision making. He also helps managers use financial information in directing profit centers, implementing innovative cost management techniques and relating operations to strategic objectives.
At the university, Chuck develops, coordinates and teaches executive seminars, conferences and on-site seminars. His background includes a decade in the insurance industry, where he held positions in underwriting, internal auditing and reinsurance. Chuck is active in several professional associations, and currently serves on the local board of the Institute of Management Accountants. He is also an active member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Insurance Trainers and Educators and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Chuck has authored numerous articles in financial, training and general interest publications. His articles focus on his major interest areas, which include financial analysis; monitoring, reporting and using financial information for management operations; controlling construction costs; and corporate ethics. In addition, he authored a book and an executive educational program on financial analysis, contributed chapters to two books, and authored the monograph “Using Ratio Analysis by the Internal Auditor” for the Institute of Internal Auditors.
The Institute of Management Accountants awarded the prestigious Lybrand Gold Medal, their highest manuscript award, to Chuck for his co-authored article, “Whistleblowing and the Professional.” Krueger also received a Certificate of Merit, Lybrand Award, for an earlier co-authored article, “Controlling Construction Costs.”
