Economic Outlook Conference
While economists continue to debate how much the economy will slow in 2008, several signs point to a more modest pace of growth. Some companies are better equipped than others to handle the inevitable periods of economic weakness — is YOUR company one of them?
Join us on Friday, April 4, 2008, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Economic Outlook seminar as four economic experts share their views on what it will take to keep your organization on a solid financial track...even in the face of a recession.
These noted economists will disclose which factors they are watching the closest, whether it’s the global economy, sub-prime loan portfolio or the tug between inflation and a robust economy. Their exclusive insights will help you make more informed business decisions for 2008 and beyond.
Previous speakers have discussed the decline in the housing market, the sub-prime market, international business and more. What will our four financial specialists reveal this year?
Featured Presenters
- David Hale, Global Economist/Founding Chairman, Hale Advisers and China Online
- Ken Mayland, President, Clearview Economics, LLC
- Elizabeth Stephenson, Associate Principal, McKinsey & Company
- Donald S. Nichols, Ph.d., Professor Emeritus of Economics and Public Affairs, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Five reasons to turn off the screen and add live presentations by economic experts to your tool set:
- Enjoy four presentations for the price of one! TV interviews, blogs and e-newsletters only share one expert opinion, but at Economic Outlook, you’ll hear from four economic experts with different backgrounds and different insights.
- Speak to experts directly. Our knowledgeable speakers are here to be sure you understand. Each presentation is followed by an audience question-and-answer session. Even if you don’t bring your own questions, you’ll learn from listening to other audience member’s questions, clarifications and even debates!
- Get to the heart of the matter. In the news industry, competitive ratings and ad dollars force attention on the dramatic, not necessarily the important. Free from timed pressures of commercial breaks, our experts reveal their concerns and the reasoning behind them, so you leave with the background to apply their predictions to your specific organization.
- Gain a local, long-term view. In addition to national trends, you’ll also hear what economic factors will affect our region. Plus, because they’re not affected by newsroom editors and limited air time, our experts have the freedom to look to mid- and long-term future trends, not just the immediate reality.
- Meet other regional professionals. During lunch, refreshment breaks or the reception immediately following Economic Outlook, you’ll meet other regional professionals who share your concerns for the local economy. Together, you can discuss takeaways, implications and applications back at the office.
