Day 2

Managing Cultural and Company Differences

  • Overview of managing international projects
  • The four cultural types and how to vary your management style accordingly
  • Communicating across cultural boundaries
  • Establishing common language, processes, metrics and controls
  • Developing and managing a business relationship with outsourced subcontractors
  • Assessing different types of contractual relationships and their risks
  • Developing a risk management plan with outsourced subcontractors
  • Moving from vendor management to partner management

 

Day 3

Managing Co-Located Teams

  • The advantages and challenges of co-located teams
  • Assessing and selecting co-located team members
  • Establishing common language, processes, metrics and controls
  • Improving integrated work streams and team performance
  • Communicating effectively using different channels of communication
  • Avoiding common cultural mistakes when managing a cross-cultural team
