Why Women Have Balls: Stress Mgt for the Busy Woman

Does this sound familiar? You are going through life, at 90 miles-per-hour, with 7 balls in the air -- and here comes another one! This program provides lessons in juggling life, including how to take care of your own ball, taking a bow and choosing which balls to juggle. Stress management is the result -- even when life sends you bowling balls and chainsaws!

Eliz Greene was seven-months pregnant with twins when she suffered a massive heart attack. Her life changed -- not only did she survive a ten-minute cardiac arrest, the cesarean delivery of her daughters and open-heart surgery, all on the same day. She is a national spokesperson for the American Heart Association and chairs the Advocacy Committee in her home state of Wisconsin. Embrace Your Heart™ Director, Eliz Greene, uses her experience as a heart attack survivor to inspire women to pay attention to their #1 health threat. Today, Eliz is a healthy 42-year-old living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her wonderful husband, Clay, and her beautiful (now 6-year-old) daughters.

The Myths of Motivation

May 28, 2008

Leadership is action, not a position. To motivate others you need to understand the delicate mechanism of human behavior and the motives and needs that drive them. You can then create an atmosphere and reinforcement pattern that will provide the proper incentive for the individuals around you to increase their collective effort.
Apply your knowledge of human behavior to motivate your team to accept your direction and enthusiastically perform to the best of their ability. This seminar will explore the myths of motivation. There are five commonly held myths of motivating others that need to be exposed and exploded before the application of a motivational plan. Some are born of early relationships between business owners and hired employees; some are misconceptions and some are old ideas.
Professor Elaine Estervig Beaubien (www.elainetrain.com) is an award winning educator, an experienced corporate trainer, an accomplished speaker, a published writer and a successful entrepreneur. She is a member of the tenured business faculty of Edgewood College and is CEO of Management Training Seminars. As a corporate trainer, her clients have been as diverse as Harley Davidson, the Peabody Hotel, St. Mary’s Hospital, the State of Wisconsin, Bayer, and Rayovac. Having met all of her personal and professional goals, she semi-retired and moved into other areas of interest. Some would say Elaine completely jumped the track when shed her briefcase, PowerPoint presentations, and class notes and became…E. K. Barber, writer of romantic fiction.

Participants say:

"I thoroughly enjoyed the speaker and her messages!!"

"Thought provoking, encouraging, personable."

"Superb stories, fun, uplifting."

"The program was a stimulating self-evaluation and action planning session."
